How to find Hotel Key Card in The Last of Us Remake?
The Hotel Keycard at The Last of Us is in a basem*nt security and CCTV room that’s easy to overlook if you don’t know where to look. Assuming you’re at the locked door where you need the keycard, here’s the walkthrough:
one. From the door, look down the corridor you went out to get here.
2. Go to the very end – turn right through the open doors, then immediately enter the laundry room.
3. Follow the room on the right to a corridor.
4. Follow the red wires on the floor to a room with a large hole in the floor.
5. Instead of falling down the hole, enter through the door on the right.
6. There should be a doorway in front of you (if you turned on the generator, the light will flicker through it). That’s the security room – go inside.
7. On the table right in front of you is the Hotel Key Card to open the basem*nt door.

If you need power for the key card door and haven’t found the generator yet, simply follow the steps listed above to step 4 – then to do Drop it through the hole into a dark, water-filled area.
Make a quick U-turn to look behind you; You will see the generator on a raised platform against the back wall. It requires the same button prompt minigame as the other generator you find, but be careful – triggering the generator will summon multiple Stalkers and an Inflator to attack you. How do you beat the Bloater and Hotel Stalkers in The Last of Us Remake?
The actual number of enemies you fight varies depending on the difficulty, but most of the principles for dealing with them are the same in either case. Here are some tips on how to finish the Inflator and the fast-moving Stalkers before they finish you off.
- As always, always make sure you are ready for the fight. Reload your weapons (focus on short and medium range when choosing between all The Last of Us Remake weapons), stock up on health and blades, and craft at least one Molotov – we’ll explain why in a moment.
- When enemies arrive, try to deal with Stalkers first. Keep moving and use the shotgun to eliminate them as soon as they arrive. Use narrow and twisty corridors to avoid the bloater for now; slow but tough enough to want to fight him one on one.
- If possible, lean your back against the wall. Stalkers are fast and love to catch you from angles you’re not watching; Make sure you can’t accidentally back up to one.
- Once the stalkers are dead, switch to mid-range weapons and use your focused hearing to track Bloater. Start by throwing a Molotov at him – he does massive damage and can do nothing to avoid it. More molotovs will help, but if you’re trying to protect them, it alone will give you a huge advantage.
- For the rest of the fight, use the corners to avoid their bullets and keep backing up. Bloater is a close-range juggernaut that can instantly kill you if he catches you, so keep your distance and take advantage of how clumsy it is. If his explosives wear you out, run to the other side of the basem*nt and use the time it takes to catch up with you to heal or craft.
- Always aim for the head. It may be slow, but it’s a very viable and safe strategy to stand in a corner, take a shot at Bloater’s skull, then dodge before the spore grenade lands and position further back again. - Don’t use the Shotgun if you can help. As tempting as it may be, the close range required means Bloater can always charge and catch you out of nowhere. Stick to the Shotgun and Pistol, or even the Pistol, until running out of ammo forces you to switch to something less ranged.
