This Whole30 Ranch Dressing is truly something special. It has such amazing flavor thanks for the fresh garlic, dill and parsley. And the avocado oil, egg and coconut milk make it thick and ultra creamy. I promise you, this will become your go to ranch dressing recipe long after your Whole30 is over.

Whole30 Dump Ranch

Whole30 dump ranch really gets all the attention but truth is this recipe takes just about the same amount of time, a couple minutes and blending is all that’s needed. It’s so simple and so much better thickier, creamier and just down right tastier than any other ranch recipe I’ve tried (whole30 or not).

What Makes This The Best Ranch Dressing Recipe?

I believe there are two main reasons that makes this the very BEST ranch dressing recipe. First, this recipe uses simple and fresh ingredients that maximize taste. From fresh garlic, dill and parsley to fresh lemon juice the ingredient list can’t be beat. The second reason this ranch dressing is the absolute best is the flavor and texture achieved with these ingredients! I’m a fan of thick and super creamy ranch and this is the very best ranch dressing I’ve ever had! I believe the texture is largely contributed to the fact that you aren’t using pre-made mayo to make the dressing instead the mayo ingredients are a part of the ranch dressing recipe. The great thing about this recipe is that you can thin it out if desired and customize it to your taste and needs. (If you choose to thin this dressing out you will need to adjust seasoning.)

How To Make this Whole30 Ranch Dressing

*Full recipe and ingredients are listed in the recipe card below.

To make this dairy free ranch dressing, use a wide-mouth 16 ounce or larger mason jar or larger, add the avocado oil, egg, coconut milk, garlic clove, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and smoked paprika.

Insert the immersion blender (you will need an immersion blender as a standard blender will not work for this – I’ve linked my favorite if you need one) into the bottom of the jar directly over top of the egg yolk. Blend on high and leave the immersion blender on the bottom of the jar without moving for approximately 20-30 seconds until the entire bottom of the jar is emulsified and creamy. Then with the blender still on high, slowly lift up while you blend. Continue blending until the dressing is fully blended, smooth and thickened.

Remove the immersion blender.

To the top of the jar add the fresh dill and fresh parsley. Place the immersion blender into the very top of the jar just over the herbs and begin blending after a few seconds while still blending move the blender down into the jar until the herbs are fully incorporated. Then remove the immersion blender.

Place a lid on the jar, mark the jar with the date the dressing was made and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

How To Tell If Eggs Are Fresh

This recipe requires the use of a fresh egg. Backyard chickens are great but many of us don’t have our own chickens. If that’s the case for you and you have a farmer’s market near you that’s next best thing. You can easily tell if you have a fresh egg once you crack it. If the egg white is runny and watery then your egg is not fresh. What you want to see is a thick and gelatinous egg white that has volume to it’s shape.

If you want to tell if an egg is fresh before cracking it open simply fill a glass with cold water and place the egg at the surface of the water and let it go.

  • If the egg sinks down to the bottom of the glass and lays on it’s side then it is fresh.
  • If the egg sinks down to the bottom of the glass and almost lays on it’s side but not completely and is at a slight angle the egg is about a week old but still considered fresh.
  • If the egg sinks down to the bottom of the glass but stands on one end it is about 3-4 weeks old and is still good to eat if eaten soon however it will not yield the best results in making mayonnaise.
  • If the egg floats at the top of the water then the egg is not fresh and should be discarded.

Notes

*A 16 ounce mason jar is a tight fit for this recipe and reaches maximum capacity but is what I used and is pictured above. It works since the immersion blender doesn’t spill the thick dressing but a larger jar would be easier to maneuver.
