Murder Mystery or Murder Mystery 1 (abbreviated to MM or MM1) was a murder game created by Nikilis on 8 January 2014 and went into beta on 19 January 2014. It is the prequel to Murder Mystery 2 and was eventually replaced by it in an update.
Gameplay[]
When a Map was chosen, players would be teleported to the chosen map and be given a role; The Murderer, Innocents, or Sheriff. Players would be disguised by receiving a different name, clothes and accessories. The Murderer's job was to kill all players and avoid being shot by the Sheriff, while the Sheriff's objective was to discover who the Murderer was and to shoot the Murderer. Innocents had to survive and witness murders, but if the Sheriff died, their gun could be picked up by an Innocent to shoot the Murderer.
Murderers had the unique ability to see other player's footsteps, along with acquiring abilities which were based on the knife they had bought and equipped.
Inspired Remakes[]
Murder Mystery was a popular game at its time, and it had inspired the creation for other murder-themed games on Roblox, such as The Mad Murder (and eventually its sequel, The Mad Murderer 2) and Twisted Murderer.
Trivia[]
- Knives that were bought before the update to Murder Mystery 2 appeared in player's inventories with a tier of their own, Classic. This tier was later renamed as Vintage.
