Martha Stewart might be best known these days as an award-winning TV show host, but her love of cooking started young. Stewart grew up learning her way around the kitchen, as was customary for her Polish-American background (via Britannica). PBS reports that she learned her cooking, baking, and canning skills from her mother. In 1976, she launched her own catering business and found her calling. She went on to publish several cookbooks, as well as her own monthly magazine.
If you need to find a recipe, chances are you can find what you're looking for on Stewart's website. She shares her favorite ideas and tips for every meal of the day, along with drinks and desserts. There is an entire section of her website dedicated to baking, and it contains a number of recipes for breads, cakes, muffins, cookies, and more. At Macy's, Stewart sells a collection of cake-decorating supplies, which can be purchased with or without one of her cookbooks. When it comes time to whip up her own desserts, Stewart has one go-to ingredient that she prefers to use.

When it comes to Martha Stewart's cooking, she has one go-to brand that she "always" uses when she needs flour. According to the Chicago Tribune, Stewart is partial to King Arthur flour for all her baking needs, which is unbleached and all-natural. She even included it on her list of "12 favorite things."
A five-pound bag of the all-purpose flour sells for around $7 on the King Arthur website, but it can also be purchased at Target, Kroger, and Walmart if you don't want to wait for shipping. The site states that the best-selling flour is made from a blend of hard red wheat flour and malted barley flour, contains 11.7% protein content, and is Kosher.
The site states that while this flour might be a basic pantry staple, it has been "perfected and tested" to ensure the highest quality — which Martha Stewart evidently agrees with. If you need another variety of flour to fit your dietary needs, the brand also offers gluten-free, grain-free, organic, and whole-grain varieties on its website.

Back in 2014, Martha Stewart even visited the King Arthur Flour Baker's Store in Vermont, according to the King Arthur Flour website. The store has a Baking Education Center, where guests can learn new recipes and techniques to use in the kitchen. While visiting, Stewart got a tour of the manufacturing facility, took photos, and signed cookbooks. She also hosted sold-out demonstrations and taught a room full of fans to make several different baked goods — all using King Arthur Flour, of course.
Stewart's first recipe was stollen: a sweet German bread made with butter and raisins and coated with sugar, typically baked and eaten around Christmastime (via Gingerbread World). Stewart also shared her recipe for breakfast cookies — which, as she told guests, were not meant to be "healthy," but to taste good. Guests also left with a recipe for a more savory food: "Julie's Flatbread" featured a bread base topped with rosemary, olive oil, red onion, tomatillos, sage, and tomatoes, all seasoned with salt and pepper.
