Quick update in the ongoing mystery of Kylie Jenner's son's new name: Kylie Jenner's son doesn't *technically* have a new name yet. Not from a legal standpoint, anyway.
Kylie stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday (along with her mom, Kris Jenner, because why the hell not?) and the host grilled her on the status of her son's name. For anyone out on the internet who somehow doesn't remember, Kylie originally announced in February that her son's name was Wolf Webster, only to retract the name a few weeks later via Instagram Stories.
"FYI our sons name isn't Wolf anymore," she wrote in a post on March 21. "We just really didn't feel like it was him. Just wanted to share because I keep seeing Wolf everywhere."
Since then, there have been false alarms (like when some fans were convinced Kylie's nephew, Mason Disick, had leaked the name on a secret Instagram account and that name was "Knight") and blatant teases/borderline trolling from Kylie herself (see: Kylie inaudibly whispering her son's name on TikTok), but no true updates about the KarJenner formerly known as Wolf.
Until now.
During the chat with James Corden, Kylie revealed that she and Travis Scott haven't actually legally changed Wolf's name yet.
"We haven't officially legally changed the name," Kylie explained. "His name is still Wolf. His passport's Wolf, but that isn't gonna be his name. We're just waiting."
Corden pressed. Kylie dodged. Kris made some jokes about the family calling the baby "Andy" and Kylie not legally changing the name until he's 21. Eventually, a few other actual bits of information emerged though.
First, even though Kylie's son's passport still says Wolf, that doesn't mean she and Travis have reconsidered the decision to change it. "We don't call him Wolf," she said, adding that they have narrowed it down to at very least a top contender for the new official name, but "we're just not ready to share yet."
Top contender? Yep. While it sounds like the name issue is *mostly* settled, Kylie admitted that Travis is still workshopping new options.
"Travis likes to sometimes ... one day, he'll be like, 'Oooh, this name's kinda cool,' and change it again," explained, adding that they don't plan to officially change it until they're sure they're sure about the new name.
She did offer one firm clue about the new name. When Corden asked if the new name is animal-themed, she answered with a hard no. So there's that.
